Sony Ericsson interested in the PlayStation brand

The president of Sony Ericsson says he would be interested in carving out a niche for the handset maker based on the strength of the PlayStation brand.

Hideki Komiyama told the Financial Times that the company had failed to stay on top of technological developments in the mobile business.

Having already integrated Sony’s Walkman and Cybershot brands into its phones, Komiyama said a PlayStation mobile “could happen”. We all know it is very plausible, we just don’t know what is holding up Sony from making the device.

“If we do not adapt to this new technology or new market environment, we’re going to lose,” he added. The Phone if true and were to release would face compitaion from Apple IPhone.
