Halo Exec leaving Microsoft to join MTV’S Bruckheimer Games Studio
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has recently hired Jim Veevaert, the lead executive behind the Halo franchise, and Ubisoft Senior VP of publishing Jay Cohen to run Jerry Bruckheimer Games Studio as leads of production and development.
In 2007, Bruckheimer announced plans to enter the video game space through a partnership with MTV. The company will publish Bruckheimer’s games and co-develop with the newly founded team. MTV has made a really big push into the video game space.
Veevaert spent the last eight years at Microsoft including his position as executive producer on Halo 3. He also served as a liaison between Microsoft and Bungie Studios.
JayCohen has spent 10 years at Ubisoft as senior VP of publishing, building up popular franchises including Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Rayman. We have more info as soon as it comes out on what they are working on.
