New Killzone 2 Patch includes “High Precision” control scheme

Killzone 2 made a big splash on the PS3 as the premiere FPS on the console and stratify most of it’s owners, it couldn’t please everyone. Most of the complains were that the controls felt “sluggish” and “heavy”, these was really the main reason that some people hated the game. Guerilla games is about to release a new patch to will include the “High Precision” control scheme.

I would like to point out that they are releasing this patch, never minding the fact that these control issue were mostly fix(for some but others still had problems) by adjusting the controller sensitivity in the game’s options menu. But as always that was just too hard for some and too much work for others. So the community caring developers at Guerilla Games are about to release a new patch for the game that, among some tweaks to matchmaking and skirmish mode, includes a new “High Precision” control scheme.

Guerilla’s Eric Boltjes explains:

When this option is switched on, it makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements. Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It’s not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the ‘weight’ of the controls remain the same.

Still, a lot of us here at Guerrilla really enjoy the new High Precision option, so we’ve decided to switch it on by default for new players. Existing Killzone 2 players will have the option turned off by default after patching – we wouldn’t want to force a sudden change to the controls on you!

So basically if you are in love with the existing controls, you get keep them, if hate them on the other hand, You finally get to change them (well they change it for you). Awesome right?

Your and idiot the controls did not get any better for everyone by adjusting the sensitivity. Its a matter of preference, but from the tone of you article your ego is probably to big to understand someone may think differently from yourself.

Oh yeah, I have played the demo and the whole control speed threw me off and decided to not buy this game then and there, but now I may give it a second try after reading about this new 1.27 high precision control scheme.
