Speaking to analysts earlier today, Ubisoft representatives said that several of their upcoming triple-A titles will be getting downloadable content. He later went on to say that Assassin’s Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction and James Cameron’s Avatar will all have downloadable content when they hit.
Examiner has reported that according to the latest Dengeki PlayStation Japanese gaming magazine, Square Enix is porting Final Fantasy XI to the Playstation 3. The MMORPG was already released on the PC, Playstation 2 and Xbox 360. So it very likely that the game will indeed get a port.
Activision has unveiled a new website for Guitar Hero 5 and in the process confirming not only that the game is returning to a numbered title, but that the game will be out September 1st. Which is kinda of interesting if you notice that another game will be out that month, one that features the Beatles.

Microsoft has finally confirm the Zune HD, with Microsoft confirming the handheld media device’s existence and it’s intent to go head to head or “touchscreen-to-touchscreen” with the iPod Touch this fall. EA has release four new images of Army of Two: The 40th Day. The new adrenaline pumping screens show off massive explosions, bullets racing by at mind bending speeds and teamwork. The new screen also show of a kid involved with the team this time around.
Take Two has advise its shareholders of two big delays that will impact their earnings for the rest of the financial year. The upcoming Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption have both been delayed “to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximize their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance.”
During Take Two’s second quarter financial conference call, CEO Ben Feder announced that BioShock 2 will release in Europe on Friday, October 30, while North American gamers will be returning to Rapturea little late on Tuesday, November 3.
The second episode of Rockstar’s promised downloadable expansions to Grand Theft Auto IV has been announced by Rockstar Games. The developer revealed the second DLC for GTA:4 as The Ballad of Gay Tony, which places you in the shoes of Luis Lopez, a “part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince” (or “Gay Tony”), the bar mogul who made a number of appearances in GTA IV.
