Activision has announced the first-person shooter Wolfenstein will hit store shelves near you August 4th. Wolfenstein will put you the player behind the gun of American soldier BJ Blazkowicz as he battles a horde of the horrific Nazis, as well as actual supernatural savage beasts.

The gaming studio GRIN sort of exploded onto the scene recently with new big name titles such as Wanted, Bionic Commando and Terminator Salvation all releasing within a couple of months of each other. Kotaku is reporting that various sources have indicated to them that the company has let go of more than 100 staff members. The company seems to be facing several budget problems.

Evolved Games has begun its replacement program for recalled defective retail copies of Terminator: Salvation on PC. Terminator: Salvation PC shipped with an unfortunate feature, it wouldn’t allow users to install the game at all. Add to that the fact that the game is pretty damn close to unplayable and you have problems.

Though the console-bound versions of THQ’s upcoming liberation sim Red Faction: Guerrilla will be hitting store shelves in a week and some change, the though PC version has been delay. We received tips pointing us to a few online retailers who had listed the game’s launch date as August 25 , almost three months later than the drop date for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the title.

Evolved Games has issued a recall of its PC version of Terminator: Salvation over reports of install errors.
Reports surfaced earlier this morning, after the game’s official release, that “Error Code: -5006 : 0×80070002″ kept gamers from installing the game on their PC.

The creators of Duke Nukem Forever, 3D Realms fired back today at publisher Take-Two, detailing the costs of developing the never seen game and saying that they are “not closed and is not closing.”
