Snowmobiles and underwater missions confirmed and in-game footage shown. The short clip showed several scenes, including an airfield fracas in the cold and an underwater mission.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it seems that Activision have set up deals for “Call of Duty: The Movie”, the movie for the very popular video game.

Blizzard president Mike Morhaime today confirmed that the StarCraft II beta would begin sometime this summer.

“This summer we will be opening up external beta testing, and while we haven’t announced a release date yet, this phase will also signal the final stretch [of development on the game],” said Morhaime during today’s Activision Blizzard conference call.

The publisher of Call of Duty and World of Warcraft released a sunny financial report today, and revealed that Guitar Hero is big in Europe.
Activision Blizzard pulled in $981 million in revenue in the first quarter of this year ending March 31. That’s up from the company’s projected $860 million (which happens to be the revenue rival EA earned in its last quarter).

Activision has confirmed to Joystiq that the title is in development and will release sometime during the second half of this year. Activision could not confirm any songs, and only said the game will contain Van Halen’s “greatest hits,” as well as guest acts such as Queen, Weezer, blink-182, The Offspring, Queens of the Stone Age, and more.

Activision continues to “exploit” its Guitar Hero franchise this year with three new full titles coming this autumn. The newly announced Guitar Hero 5 will offer “the ability to drop in and out of songs and change band members, instruments and difficulty levels on the fly.” The press release contains no other details regarding the game, but you can bet it’ll be pretty similar to Guitar Hero: World Tour.

The good news is that Blizzard may be planning to do more with the iPhone. But that where it ends the bad news for developers is that they’re apparently trying to squelch useful iPhone apps that are out there right now. They’ve already sent out cease-and-desist orders to two Warcraft-related iPhone apps that were charging money (Armory Browser and the Warcraft Arena Calculator), and now we’ve heard from its creator that Warcraft Characters has gotten the C&D treatment as well.

If accurate, the list reveals “Little Guitars,” “Cathedral,” “Spanish Fly,” and “Eruption” on the soundtrack.
